Victoria Azarenka Biography
Viktoriya "Vika" Fiodorovna Azarenka is the daughter of Alla and Fedor Azarenka and has a brother, Max. She began tennis at the age of seven when her mother introduced her to the game.
At the age of 16, Azarenka moved from Minsk to Scottsdale, Arizona, to train, aided by family friend Nikolay Khabibulin, an NHL goalkeeper and his wife.
 In 2005, she won the junior Australian Open and US Open titles, and became the first Belarusian to be named ITF Junior Girls World Champion. In 2012, she became the first Belarusian player to win a Grand Slam title (the Australian Open) and the first to be ranked No. 1 in the world.
Azarenka is coached by Sam Sumyk and is known for the noise she makes when hitting the ball something between a scream and a grunt. At Wimbledon in 2011, the noise was measured at 95 decibels.
He favorite shot is the backhand and prefers hard surfaces. She speaks three languages – English, Russian and Belarusian. In 2009, she posed for the French edition of FHM magazine.
She listens to rock, club, hip-hop and R&B music and admires Roger Federer both on and off the court.
